Bike Racks for Electric Bikes Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ll know that there’s no denying that eBikes are on the rise. A bike for everyone, they’re a hit with the young and old, commuters and weekend-only riders, professional mountain bikers and those just starting out. There’s an eBike for everyone so we want to make sure there’s an electric bike rack for everyone as well! The newest addition to the Steadyrack collection, our eBike Rack is now one of our most versatile racks. Our eBike Rack not only accommodates heavier eBikes but also electric bikes with Fenders and Mudguards – making it the perfect rack for many kinds of bikes. eBikes have a lot of pros – they make cycling more accessible to the masses and make riding longer distances easier – which in turn leads to fewer cars on the roads. All these benefits don’t make them any lighter though, with some eBikes weighing upwards of 65 pounds. We don’t know about you, but the last thing we want to do after a nice long bike ride is to haul an extremely heavy electric bike over our heads. That’s where a Steadyrack comes in! With Steadyrack eBike Racks, there’s no need to lift your electric bike at all – simply roll your eBike into place and store it easily. The design of the wall-mounted eBike rack will pick the bike up off the floor for you. As each Steadyrack has a unique 160° pivot, it also makes getting to your eBike charger much more efficient and frees up your precious storage space. Simply swivel the bike to the side, and voila! Our electric bike racks are also for eBikes with fenders and mudguards. Just make sure to check you have a minimum clearance of 2cm / 3/4 inches between your bike's front tire and down tube. Learn more about this, and check your eBikes suitability. Best for eBikes WITH Fenders, eMTB, Commuter, City, Town Designed for electric bikes with: Wheel Diameter: 20" – 29" Tire Width: 2.1" – 2.8" Maximum Weight: 35kgs / 77lbs Bikes with Fenders/Mudguards Is the eBike Rack suitable for eBikes with fenders? You bet it is! Our eBike racks have been designed with fenders in mind. Just make sure you check you have a minimum clearance of 2cm / 3/4 inches between your bike's tire and the stays which attach the fender/mudguard to your bike's frame.. Can I charge my eBike on the eBike rack? The Steadyrack eBike rack doesn’t come with a charger, however, the 160° pivot makes getting to your charger a breeze. Simply load your eBike into your rack, and pivot to the position you need. Easy! Do I need to lift my heavy eBike to use the Steadyrack? No! We don’t know about you, but the last thing we want to do after a nice long bike ride is to haul an extremely heavy bike over our heads. With a Steadyrack, there’s no need to lift your bike at all. Simply lever your eBike onto its back wheel by locking the back brake, then slowly walk the bike backwards. This motion to get your bike onto its back wheel using the advantage of the bike’s tire will save you from having to strenuously lift the bike. The design of the rack will pick the bike up off the floor for you when you load it in. Are Steadyrack bike racks safe to use for bikes with hydraulic brakes/forks/suspensions? Yes! This is a common concern for many bike owners with these types of brakes and suspension. When your bike is hung up vertically, the fluid in your forks will run toward the seals and keep them lubricated. This will prolong their use, so it’s actually good for your bike and forks to hang vertically on our bike racks. If you have hydraulic brakes on your bike, the fluid will run down when the bike is hung, so we advise pumping the brakes a few times when you take the bike off the rack if it’s been there for a while. The shocks shouldn’t leak when the bike is hung up, however, if they do then it’s a good indication that the seals might need replacing. Will hanging my bike damage the bike frame or forks? Hanging a bike in Steadyrack will not cause any damage to your bike. No part of the bike frame touches the rack, only the front tire, which is cradled in the steel arms.
